Motorcycles

What is the safety level of these systems when impacted by a motorcycle? They seem to be nasty things for a biker, but are they as bad as they appear? Matt Beard (talk) 10:25, 19 August 2008 (UTC) There are cases where a motorcyclist was cut in half in June near Auckland, lost control hit a wire barrier which sliced him in half at the waist. Speed was a factor. Assume there are more cases.[reply]

Further to motorcycles there are cases where a vehicle has passed through or under these cables.

I believe there is room for a criticisms section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.34.102.196 (talk) 17:07, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One may end up effectively with a result similar to that with an egg slicer. --VanBurenen (talk) 13:46, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cable barriers should not be singled out. We had a biker dismembered in a collision with corrugated rail near here. --Triskele Jim (talk) 14:53, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
