Interesting study - to add or not?

A 2026 Journal of Neuroscience study[1] had found that long-term birdwatching reshapes the brain. The study used both skilled bird ID experts (n = 29; ages 24-75, 15 female) and matched novices (n = 29; ages 22-79, 14 female) and found that expert birders showed increased structural complexity in cortical regions involved in attention, perception and memory, helping them identify birds more accurately. It may also indicate that birdwatching slows age-related decline in certain brain regions. I would add it in but sample size seems tad low. JaredMcKenzie (talk) 02:35, 4 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
