Talk:Barry Blue

The entire section of "About Barry" from http://www.myspace.com/barrybluesongs was copied into this article. I have removed it, but please keep an eye on the article for future issues. And as MySpace is not a WP:RS, of course the material cannot be used as a reference. Thanks! ArielGold 11:06, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't there be something about Barry's Cry Sisco! and 'Afro Dizzi Act' being one of THE biggest tracks of the Acid House Era of 1988/89 you couldn't go to any of the big parties around the M25 etc in 1989 and not hear this at least once - I think just putting he had a minor hit with this doesn't do it any where near justice.

Cry Sisco!?

I'm not sure if Barry Blue was a member of Cry Sisco! Not according to Discogs - http://www.discogs.com/artist/Cry+Sisco! - can't find any involvement by Barry Blue or production with the record at all. The Barry Blue link to Cry Sisco! originates from The Guinness Book of Singles and Albums which contains a large number of errors, especially when giving background info about the acts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Solatha (talkcontribs) 11:24, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may be right. But the sourcing of verifiable sources is the issue. You may cast ascertains on sources as you wish, but alternatives need providing. Both British Hit Singles & Albums and Discogs have Wikipedia articles, but I would respectfully suggest you examine each source's criteria and editorial credibility. Overall, the present Wikipedia article for Barry Blue is short on both counts.

The article has now been enhanced by the inclusion of various in-line citations, to fully support the text. The issue of Cry Sisco! is more tricky, as Blue was trying to disguise his involvement by using the producer tag, 'Uno Hoo'. You can be sure it was him however, as both The Guinness Book of Singles and Albums and Allmusic allude to the fact.

As has been said this tune was one of the biggest on the acid house (rave) scene in 1988 and 1989 especially in London - (it was around both years) and it was widely known at the time that it was by the 1970s pop star Barry Blue. ~2026-28345-1 (talk) 21:19, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
