Change "since most used on smartphones, and by now tables too (globally)" to "since most used on smartphones, and by now tablets too (globally)" there is a typo (tables -> tablets) 80.238.96.59 (talk) 16:00, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Content that should be added but I'm not sure where

https://keepandroidopen.org is of course not a reliable source, but it cites multiple reliable sources. I'm not sure if that's enough to be due in this article, and if not, I son't know which of the many sub-articles it would fit into. I couldn't find any mention of this on Wikipedia, which surprises me since it's a pretty important development ehich, if implemented, would result in changing the lead sentence of this article and most descriptions of android in other articles. lp0 on fire () 22:08, 9 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedit "However, several observers notices that with years, Android became a really closed-participation project of Linux" to "However, several observers noticed that with years, Android became a closed-source project using Linux" MultisampledNight (talk) 13:16, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

That's not a copyedit, that is a different factual claim, and an incorrect one. Android is not closed source. - MrOllie (talk) 13:46, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Now that you point it out, though, the sentence in question is both badly written and based on citations that do not meet WP:RS standards, so I have removed it entirely. - MrOllie (talk) 13:48, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed removal of "Launched with" in table in Platform information

The "Launched with" column of the table in the article's Platform information section seems to be unnecessary as List of Android smartphones already exists; The table itself hasn't really been updated, nor do the contents seem to be fully referenced by the source. We could keep the rest of the table relating API level and kernel version to android versions, or remove the table in its entirety. If we do choose to remove a column, we might want to expand the table to include more versions. TheCap7 (talk) 17:18, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
