Talk:Alpha Waves

Alpha Waves was not the first to feature 6-degrees rotation. It was preceded by Driller (1987) and some other Incentive Software games. Alone Coder (talk) 17:35, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • 6-axis means you can not just look left right, but also up down and bank left/right. The videos of Driller on Youtube only show rotation along the Y axis (vertical), not along the X or Z axis. Also, Driller was not full screen 3D. The innovation in Alpha Waves is the combination of 6-axis, full screen and interaction with 3D objects that pretty much define 3D today. The only biggie missing compared to modern 3D games was texture mapping. Descubes (talk) 13:57, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Expanded

I've recently given the article an expansion. It still needs some gameplay sources. But that can come later. I've re-written the reception, making-of, lead and legacy section. I've removed information that was unsourced original research about "firsts" of the game, which would be nearly impossible to seriously prove. If there are any comments or questions on information since its expansion, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Andrzejbanas (talk) 03:19, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
