The article defines an algorithm as a finite sequence of mathematically rigorous instructions yet we all know algorithms can branch. It even represents an example of one with a flowchart which we all know does not only represent sequences. Maybe instead, the article should define an algorithm as a graph? I asked Google/Gemini: Is there any citation for the claim that "an algorithm can be viewed as having two components: constraint rules and solution rules. It seems that the only citation Google was able to find was to the Wikipedia article itself. Perhaps the editor was thinking of the view that Algorithm = Logic + Control. I inserted a section about this into the Algorithm article a year or two ago, but the section was removed by another editor, with the argument that the section was unnecessary, because there aleady is a section in the Logic Programming aticle.
