Change AD to CE
Is there such a thing in Wikipedia as to change denomination of date from : Before Christ (BC), Anno Domini (AD) to Before Common Era (BCE), Common Era (CE) ? Oversleep9 (talk) 08:41, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- See MOS:ERA and MOS:RETAIN. In a nutshell, the first format to be used in an article is the one that's used. Mindmatrix 13:28, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Protection of this page
This page has been vandalised and edited badly a lot, so how about we protect this page? This can fix the issue and make Wikipedia more reliable. WikiHelper3906 13:55, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
Is an algorithm a "sequence"?
The article defines an algorithm as a finite sequence of mathematically rigorous instructions yet we all know algorithms can branch. It even represents an example of one with a flowchart which we all know does not only represent sequences. Maybe instead, the article should define an algorithm as a graph? Algorithm = Logic + Control
I asked Google/Gemini: Is there any citation for the claim that "an algorithm can be viewed as having two components: constraint rules and solution rules. It seems that the only citation Google was able to find was to the Wikipedia article itself. Perhaps the editor was thinking of the view that Algorithm = Logic + Control. I inserted a section about this into the Algorithm article a year or two ago, but the section was removed by another editor, with the argument that the section was unnecessary, because there aleady is a section in the Logic Programming aticle. There is also a link to the section Algorithm = Logic + Control at the end of the Algorithm article. Robert Kowalski (talk) 08:07, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- Well, Gemini can be dumber than dumb sometimes. I have seen it use Reddit as a source. But you should add your paper and mention Algorithms + Data Structures = Programs as well. Cheers Yesterday, all my dreams... (talk) 19:54, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
