Nathan W. Monroe is an American political scientist. He is a professor in the department of political science at the University of California, Merced, where he holds the Tony Coelho Endowed Chair Professor in Public Policy.[1]

Monroe attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning his B.A. degree in 2000. He also attended the University of California, San Diego, earning his M.A. degree and his Ph.D. degree in 2004.[2] He was a faculty member at the University of the Pacific before joining the political science faculty at UC Merced in 2008. His research focuses on political institutions in the United States, especially the United States Congress.[3] According to a 2011 public comment, he is a resident of Hughson in Stanislaus County, California.[4]

Moore was named to his endowed chair in 2014,[5] which was endowed by Tony Coelho.[6] In 2021, he became the founding director of UC Merced's Center for Analytic Political Engagement.[7]
