Zelig Williams
Early Life:
Zelig grew up in Columbia and Irmo, South Carolina where he started his dance training at Southern Strut Dance Studio, at 12. Before later moving to New York City to pursue his dance career. He has been acting in school shows since 4th grade. Zelig is shown to have a very close relationship with his mother, Kathy Williams. He was in International Thespian Honor Society, and he served as the President of Dreher High School, Troupe 3940.

College
Zelig graduated from Pace University in 2020. He has a BFA in commercial dance with a focus in choreography. In his freshman & sophomore year (2016) Zelig made his Broadway debut in Hamilton. For his junior and senior years (2019) Zelig joined Hugh Jackman's "The Man. The Music. The Show." world tour as a dancer.

Zelig also joined Hamilton in 2016 and stayed with the company until 2018. He was the youngest cast member at 19 years old. He was casted as ensemble man #4, performing 8 shows a week at the Richard Rodgers Theater.
Other Creative Outlets
Zelig has his own podcast Hu • man in the Mirror under the name Zelig Will. In this podcast he opened up about his struggles and successes. Additionally, he talks about his growth in faith has helped shaped him into the person he is. You can find two episodes still up on his YouTube profile.

Dance Workshops
Zelig hosted workshops at Boradway Dance Center in NYC. He choreographed many routines at various dance companies such as: Step N Motion Dance Studio, Unbound Dance Company, Broadway Dance Center, etc. He's also well known for hosting and organizing the Redemption: Broadway Bootcamp 2024.
Cultural Impact
Zelig was very well accomplished in Broadway style dance and through his performance and teaching, has continued to innovate in its public sentiment and broaden the overall cultural context of the art. Broadway dance has been culturally significant since it's birth, often mirroring American societal shifts.
The art has widely bridged diverse movement—from jazz to modern— functioning as a playground for expression of national identity, culture, and emotional themes.
Legacy & Influence
Despite his controversy, Zelig has significantly influenced the southern dance community through his teaching, becoming a big role model for young male African American dancers who dream of working in Broadway or the dance world. Many of his teachers over the years have made amazing remarks on his energy, passion, and dedication to sharing the joy of dancing and working in the realm of Broadway. During his disappearance, many families of students who he's worked with have reached out asking for more efforts or information about his disappearance, clearly displaying the impact he had on young performers and their families.
