Comment: Fails WP:POLITICIAN and WP:GNG. Has not been elected to a state-level office; "being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability". Paul W (talk) 21:39, 7 May 2026 (UTC)

Zane C. Matter (born June 6, 1997) is an American Democratic political activist and former candidate in Florida.[1]
Early life and education
Born in Kansas, Matter has been involved in Democratic politics through campaign work and grassroots organizing. He grew up in rural East Osceola County, was homeschooled, and later ran for office.
Career in politics
Florida politics
He has worked on several high-profile state legislative campaigns, including for George Collins in 2018, Barbara Cady in 2020, and Tom Keen in the Democratic primary for Florida House District 35. In the 2020 election cycle, Cady narrowly lost to Republican Fred Hawkins by approximately one percentage point.[2] During the 2022 Democratic primary for House District 35, Keen was defeated by fellow Democrat Rishi Bagga by a margin of 57 votes. Keen later ran again in a 2024 special election, where he won the Democratic primary against Bagga and Marucci Guzman, and subsequently defeated Republican Erika Booth in the general election.[3]
Personal life and political campaigns
Matter has also run for public office himself, campaigning for a countywide seat on the Soil and Water Conservation District board in 2020, though he was not elected.[4]
