Yousef Ahmed Al Redha (Arabic: يوسف أحمد الرضا) is an Emirati civil servant who served as Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) from 2010 until his resignation and retirement in 2024.[1][2]

Early life and education

Al Redha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Systems from the University of Southern California.[1] He began his career as an engineer at Dubai Municipality and later moved into managerial posts including Director of Human Resources and Development, Director of Administrative Services, and Director of Development and Corporate Performance.[1]

Career

Al Redha played a role in the establishment of RTA in November 2005.[1] He was appointed CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector in 2010 under Dubai Executive Council decisions governing RTA’s leadership structure.[3]

As Sector CEO his remit covered RTA-wide corporate services: managing and developing financial strategies; ensuring financial sustainability; customer experience across service channels; corporate identity and marketing; human resources development and policies; procurement and vendor contracts; and the design, construction, and management of RTA facilities and projects.[1]

Al Redha chaired the Supreme Committee for Financial Policies, through which he contributed to cumulative cost savings estimated at around AED 2.7 billion during his tenure.[1]

Partnerships and initiatives

Al Redha’s played a recurring executive role in agreements and community initiatives. In April 2019 RTA became a strategic partner of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament organised by Dubai Sports Council.[4] Al Redha took part in multiple executive agreements and programme signings during his tenure, including strategic initiatives undertaken during the COVID-19 period and subsequent years.[5][6][7] In August 2022 he represented RTA in an agreement with the UAE Ministry of Education to provide scholarships for Emirati students in transport-related disciplines including rail engineering, robotics, data analysis and AI.[8][9]

Retirement and succession

The Executive Council of Dubai accepted Al Redha’s resignation effective 6 March 2024.[2] On 26 June 2024, Executive Council Decision No. (40) of 2024 appointed Ahmed Hassan Saleh Hassan Mahboub as CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.[10][11] Subsequently, RTA’s Board page lists Abdulla Yousef Al Ali as CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.[12][13]

Al Redha was an active member of several RTA committees, including:[1]

In 2009, Al Redha was also appointed to the Executive Office of the Dubai Sports Council.[14][15]

Honours

  • Medal of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, awarded to the Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines team for on-time delivery.[1]
  • RTA publicly marked his service as the sector’s former CEO in 2024.[16]
