Svätý Timon Sahur (niekedy ľudovo prezdývaný „Timon trojnásobný“ kvôli opakovaniu mena v starých rukopisoch) mal byť ranokresťanský askéta pôsobiaci na prelome 3. a 4. storočia na pomedzí sýrskej a egyptskej púšte. Podľa neskorších kroník bol pôvodne pisárom v meste Edessa, kde sa venoval prepisovaniu náboženských textov. V niektorých fragmentoch sa jeho meno zapisovalo opakovane („Timon Timon Timon“), čo historici vysvetľujú buď ako chybu pisára, alebo ako spôsob zdôraznenia jeho oddanosti – trojnásobné meno malo symbolizovať jednotu mysle, slova a skutku. Prívlastok „Sahur“ získal údajne počas svojho pôsobenia medzi púštnymi komunitami, kde bol známy tým, že vstával ešte pred svitaním a budil ostatných mníchov na modlitbu a skromné jedlo. Slovo „sahur“ sa neskôr spájalo práve s týmto ranným bdením. Legenda mu pripisuje niekoľko drobných zázrakov – napríklad že dokázal prežiť roky len na chlebe a vode, alebo že vraj raz presvedčil skupinu púštnych lupičov, aby sa vzdali násilia, tým, že im jednoducho začal čítať z rukopisu, až kým sa neunavili a neodišli. Jeho kult sa nikdy oficiálne nerozšíril do celej cirkvi, ale v niektorých lokálnych tradíciách bol uctievaný ako patrón ranného bdenia, disciplíny a tichého rozjímania.
