The Zibs are an American indie punk rock band from Stevenson Ranch, California formed in 2019. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Graber, bass guitarist Chris Broadbent, guitarist Adam Snow and drummer Colton Herta, a professional racing driver who competes in the FIA Formula 2 Championship.[1]
History
The band was formed after Graber, Broadbent and Herta graduated high school in 2019. Out of boredom during the summer, the friends decided to transition from playing the video game Rock Band to learning physical instruments[2], inspired by Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees. The three had little prior musical background outside of Herta's brief childhood drumming experience when he was 11.[3] Within a few months, the group began writing original garage rock music. The band was originally a trio, but Adam Snow joined the band in April 2019.
The band tours actively, frequently scheduling live performances across venues in California and Indiana.[4] Its shows are usually during the racing off-season.[5]
