Synopsis

Retired Air Force investigator Martin Collins lives a quiet life in rural Virginia, working as the local chief of police and consulting on military homicides. When's he called in to assist on a grisly triple homicide case, nothing can prepare him for the crime scene: Former Air Force colonel Margaret Wildman and her 2 children brutally murdered. As Collins works his way through an increasingly puzzling maze of clues, he finds a secret that leads to the highest levels of the government and the military.[2]

Reception

  • "His third high-powered, conscientious outing confirms that Davis (The Passenger, 1999, etc.) delivers the goods—as long as you don't prefer Godiva chocolates to Raisinets." Kirkus Reviews[3]
  • "The government conspiracy coverup at the heart of this story is a sure-fire element to attract readers. Davis's writing has improved with each outing, and this third thriller will undoubtedly establish his reputation." - Publishers Weekly[4]
