Comment: Too much reliance on press releases; you need independent coverage. Also a large portion of the body of the article is unsourced. grapesurgeon (talk) 22:01, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Teuida (Korean: 트이다) is a mobile application for language learning developed by Teuida, Inc., a Seoul-based company. The app combines speech recognition with first-person video of native speakers, with which the learner practises spoken replies.[1][2]
History
Teuida launched its Korean-language course in 2020.[1][2] In March 2025, the company raised a Series A round led by JB Investment. Bloter reported that the valuation was not publicly disclosed,[1] while InvestNews reported the round at 2 billion South Korean won.[3] According to InvestNews, the company reported that its 2024 revenue had more than doubled year-on-year and that it had recorded two consecutive years of profitability; it also reported approximately 370,000 monthly active users and 4 million cumulative downloads as of January 2025.[3] Asia Business Daily later reported in October 2025 that, according to the company, revenue had grown 223% year-on-year.[2]
Product
Lessons are built around first-person video clips of native speakers; the learner replies aloud, and the app uses speech recognition to give feedback on pronunciation.[1][2][4] All Language Resources describes the program as one that "favors comprehensible input over learning grammar rules and the alphabet," citing the influence of linguist Stephen Krashen.[5]
The app is offered on a freemium basis, with the first lesson of each chapter available without charge and a paid subscription required for the full course.[5]
Reception
In May 2025, Study International described Teuida as offering first-person virtual conversations in which users practise spoken replies and receive feedback on their pronunciation through speech recognition.[4]
The language-learning review website All Language Resources rated the app 4.0 out of 5, praising its design and the volume of speaking practice, but noting that the app provides no explicit pronunciation instruction, no instruction in Hangul, and limited emphasis on grammar rules, with learners mostly acquiring set phrases. The reviewer recommended the app for beginner to lower-intermediate learners and for users already living in Korea, but not for intermediate or advanced learners, or for those seeking to learn Korean grammar, reading or writing.[5]
In October 2025, Asia Business Daily reported that, according to the company, the app had passed 5 million cumulative downloads and ranked first among Korean-language learning apps and seventh in the Japanese-learning category on the U.S. and U.K. App Stores.[2]
