Super Smalls is an children's accessories and crafts brand founded in 2019 by sisters Bianca Gottesman and Maria Dueñas Jacobs, headquartered in New York City.[1] The company is known for its fashion-inspired jewelry and play accessories for kids, along with craft and beauty kits and licensed collaborations with Disney and sports leagues including Major League Baseball (MLB) and the National Basketball Association (NBA).[2][3]

History

Super Smalls was founded by Gottesman and Dueñas Jacobs, formerly an accessories director at Elle magazine, to bring an editorial, design-driven sensibility to children's dress-up and other categories.[4] The company's early products focused on colorful play jewelry and accessories before expanding into crafts, toys, and seasonal collections.[5] Its products have been regularly featured in national gift guides, including Vogue, The New York Times, Good Housekeeping, and Good Morning America, and profiles highlighting female-founded small businesses.[1]

Products and collaborations

Super Smalls designs and produces a wide range of children's jewelry, accessories, and play items, including cold-weather items and dress-up pieces such as its signature play shoes.[5] Its craft and beauty offerings include its Gemify™ series and Bead Kits, which encourage creative, hands-on play.[6] In 2023, the company partnered with Disney to launch a jewelry and accessory collection inspired by the Disney Princess franchise.[2] Super Smalls has also released licensed collections with Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association.[3] These collections and new product launches have been covered by toy and fashion-industry media.[5]

Publishing

In 2025, the founders co-authored The Super Book of Gems: Birthstone Magic, Science, Facts, and Fun (Union Square & Co.), a children's reference introducing gemology concepts alongside historical lore and jewelry photography.[7] The book has been covered by National Jeweler, The Toy Insider, and JCK.[8]

Awards and recognition

Super Smalls has been selected for Oprah's Favorite Things in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.[9] The brand has also been recognized among Parents.com Best Toy Awards and Holiday Gift Picks,[10] and has appeared in Good Housekeeping, Vogue[11], Town & Country, The Everymom, and The Toy Book gift guides.[1]
