Stephen Manzini (born April 1989, Johannesburg, South Africa)[1][2] is a South African entrepreneur and fashion industry figure[3][4]. He is the founder of Soweto Fashion Week[5], as well as Scents of Soweto and SM Manzini Holdings.
Early life and education
Manzini was born in Johannesburg and raised between Johannesburg and eThekwini (Durban)[6]. He attended Houghton Primary School and later Assemblies of God College in Gauteng South Africa. He went on to study Business Management, obtaining a BTech degree from the University of Johannesburg.
Career
Manzini is the founder of Soweto Fashion Week[7][8], a fashion platform based in South Africa. He has also established ventures including Scents of Soweto[9] and SM Manzini Holdings.
He established the South African Fashion Association, an initiative aimed at supporting and developing the local fashion industry.[10][11]
He has participated in international fashion initiatives, including involvement in the international committee of Moscow Fashion Week and the BRICS+ Fashion Summit held in Moscow, Russia[12][13]. He has also contributed as part of the BRICS bloggers team[14] affiliated with TV BRICS[15], where he shares insights on fashion industries in Global South markets.
