Comment: References 3 and 4 (which look like the same thing to me) are just an item in a listing, so not in-depth, and 2 is an interview with the director, therefore not independent. Only the first reference might contribute to notability, and even that says "Source: Digitoons", so probably has issues with independence too. JustARandomSquid (talk) 10:52, 10 March 2026 (UTC)

Square Heads is a 2025 independent animated film written and directed by Serhan Yorganci. The film uses 3D computer graphics and was released digitally on July 8, 2025.[1]
The film was later covered by animation and digital art publications including Motionographer, 80 Level and Animation for Adults, which discussed its independent production and digital release.[2][3][4]
Plot
The story follows Brave and his friends, Four Eyes and Freckle, who accidentally generate a large amount of online charges after a series of careless clicks. The situation causes serious problems for Brave's family, and in an attempt to fix the mistake he brings home an old watch as a gift.
When the mysterious watch suddenly activates, the three children are transported into a strange world where they are forced to work under the supervision of a strict figure named Ruhi. As they struggle to understand the rules of this unfamiliar place, the children attempt to find their way back home while confronting the consequences of their actions and learning the value of responsibility.
Production
Square Heads was developed as an independently produced animated feature by filmmaker Serhan Yorganci. Motionographer described the film as a project made largely outside a traditional studio structure, with Yorganci working across writing, animation, lighting and editing.[2]
80 Level reported that the film began during the pandemic, after earlier attempts to move projects forward through more traditional production routes had stalled. The article also discussed the production workflow and the use of tools including Blender, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter and Unreal Engine.[3]
Coverage by Animation World Network and an interview published by Animation Magazine also described the film as the result of an independent production process outside the traditional studio system.[1][5]
Release
Square Heads was released digitally on July 8, 2025.[1]
The film later became available on digital platforms including Apple TV, YouTube Movies, Roku and Plex.[5][4] Animation for Adults reported that the film was also licensed to platforms including Xumo and Midwest Tape, which distributes films through public libraries in the United States.[4]
The film was included in the online screening program associated with the Ischia Global Film & Music Festival through the MYmovies platform.[6][7] Animation for Adults also reported that the film screened at Cartoons on the Bay.[4]
Media coverage
Motionographer published a profile of Yorganci and the production of Square Heads, focusing on the film's independent development and the process of making the feature outside a conventional production pipeline.[2]
80 Level covered the film from a digital art and production perspective, with attention to the workflow, software and practical challenges of completing a 3D animated feature with a small-scale production setup.[3]
Animation for Adults reported on the film's Apple TV release, its festival screenings and its availability through several digital platforms.[4]
