Slackline Events is an event-entertainment brand that provides slacklining performances and workshops. The brand is operated by WeSlack Sàrl, a company headquartered in Veytaux (Canton of Vaud) and entered in the Swiss commercial register on 6 April 2023.[1][2] The brand's founder, Lyell Grünberg, is a Swiss slackliner who performed the extinguishing of the Youth Olympic flame at the closing ceremony of the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne.[3][4]

Company structure

WeSlack Sàrl is registered in the Canton of Vaud with a stated purpose encompassing education, marketing, consulting, event services, and product sales in the fields of sport, therapy, and culture.[1] In the 2023 Swiss Innovation Challenge — a programme run by the FHNW and the Baselland Chamber of Commerce — the company described two segments: Slackline Events for B2B event services and WeSlack for B2C learning formats.[5]

Activities

Slackline Events provides slackline-based entertainment for events, typically in three formats: aerial highline performances installed at height; acrobatic trickline shows; and workshops where participants practice balance and slacklining.[5][6]

Notable events

Château Saint-Maire inauguration (2018)

On 14 April 2018, during the public inauguration of the renovated Château Saint-Maire in Lausanne (seat of the Vaud cantonal government), a slackliner carried the cantonal flag from the parliament building to the castle as part of the official ceremony, before an estimated 3,200 visitors.[7][8][9]

Gravit'High (2024)

In September 2024, the Gravit'High event in Sion featured a highline strung between the hills of Valère and Tourbillon, approximately 350 metres long at about 100 metres above the ground. Keystone-ATS coverage reported that around ten slackliners performed, with live projections for spectators and public slackline initiation activities during the day.[10][11] Le Temps published a photo gallery of the event.[12] SWI swissinfo.ch featured the highline in its "Photo of the Week" segment.[13] Le Nouvelliste reported that eleven athletes completed the round-trip crossing of approximately 600 metres.[14]
