SkyPrivate is an adult webcam platform founded in 2013 by Alex Bluck and headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Rather than hosting live streams directly, the platform routes private sessions through third-party communication applications, including Microsoft Teams, Discord, and Telegram, and charges clients on a pay-per-minute or prepaid basis.^[1]

The platform was originally developed as a Skype-based billing tool for webcam performers. When Microsoft phased out Skype's consumer services, SkyPrivate expanded to support Teams, Discord, and Telegram, while keeping the same pay-per-minute billing model.^[2] Industry publications reported on the launch of pay-per-minute shows on Telegram as part of that expansion.^[3]

SkyPrivate launched in 2013 as a platform offering pay-per-minute billing for private Skype-based webcam sessions, at a time when most cam sites hosted live streams on their own websites.^[4] The platform gained early adoption among Romanian webcam studios, with the founder stating ^[5] that the platform had gained significant adoption among Romanian studios.

In 2017, the platform introduced Bitcoin as a payout option for performers.^[6] In 2021, it added Layer 2 cryptocurrency options including Ethereum, USDC, and USDT, citing congestion on the Bitcoin network as a factor.^[7] In 2021, AVN reported on the platform's expansion to Telegram, which included the launch of pay-per-minute shows on the messaging app.^[8]
