Comment: In accordance with Wikipedia's Conflict of interest guideline, I disclose that I have a conflict of interest regarding the subject of this article. Dennis Paul Reed (talk) 16:41, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
Silver Voices is a web-based membership organisation for the over sixties who want a platform for campaigning on current issues; enabling their views to be channelled to the political parties and so influence national and local policies. Full information on the organisation, its campaigns and policies are available on its website www.silvervoices.co.uk. Silver Voices is a non-profit making company limited by guarantee (registration number 12883349).Silver Voices has not applied to be a charity as the organisation wants to be free to campaign on political issues. It has no allegiance to any political party. All subscription income and donations are invested in website, marketing, campaign and office costs. The Silver Voices Office is run by Dennis Paul Reed who was Chief Executive of the local government think tank the LGIU for eleven years.
Silver Voices was founded by Dennis Reed in 2015 and has built up its membership base (in 2026) to 11,500 members. Hundreds of thousands more support its many petitions. Silver Voices was instrumental in saving the Triple Lock under the Conservative governments of Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak and in leading the campaign to reverse the scrapping of the Winter Fuel Payment in 2025 under Labour. Current priority campaigns include raising the lower tax threshold to stop the state pension from being taxed (Petition · STOP THE STATE PENSION BEING TAXED: RAISE TAX THRESHOLD: SUPPORT COLETTE! – United Kingdom · Change.org) and pressuring the government to take early action on the social care crisis (Abolish the Casey Commission into adult social care – Petitions).
