Sameer Ambekar (born 10 January 1981) is a former Indian shooter who competed in the 10 metre air rifle event.[1] Ambekar was born and raised in Mumbai, and he began competing internationally in 2001.[2]
Career
During the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, he paired with Abhinav Bindra to win the gold medal in the men's 10 metre air rifle pairs event.[3][4]
At the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea, Ambekar competed in the men's 10 metre air rifle event held on 2 October at the Changwon International Shooting Range. The event was won by Li Jie of China.
Ambekar competed in three ISSF World Cup events in 2003. His best result came in Fort Benning, Georgia, where he scored 590 to place 20th.
Ambekar now works as a gunsmith, where he modifies and customises guns for other shooters.
