Rowan Pierce is an English soprano known for her work in Baroque and early music, as well as for her performances in opera, concert, and recital across the UK and internationally.
Early life and education
Pierce was born in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire. She studied at the Royal College of Music in London, where she was a member of the opera school. During her studies, she won several awards, including the President’s Award presented by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2017, the inaugural Grange Festival International Singing Competition (First Prize and Song Prize), the Schubert Society Singer Prize (2014), and the Van Someren Godfrey Prize for English Song.[1]

Pierce made her BBC Proms debut in 2017 with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. She returned in 2019 for Handel’s Jephtha and again in 2023 for Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.[1]
