Rondo Mason is an American track and field athlete competing for Bellevue Christian High School in the Nisqually League (1A classification) and for Northwest Pole Vault Club as an unattached competitor. A junior entering his third year of varsity competition in 2026, Mason is primarily a pole vaulter and multi-event competitor based in the Bothell, Washington area. He carries a 3.706 GPA and has drawn college recruiting interest at both the NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II levels.[1]
Background
Mason began his varsity track career as a freshman in 2024, competing in a wide range of events including the 100 meters, 400 meters, hurdles, discus, and pole vault. Over three seasons he has progressively focused on sprinting and vaulting, steadily improving his personal bests across all disciplines.
Pole vault
Pole vault is Mason's primary event. He began vaulting during the 2024 outdoor season as a 9th grader, opening at 6'6" and progressing to 9'0" at the WIAA 1A State Championship Meet — his first state appearance. The following outdoor season (2025) he improved to 13'0" to claim the Nisqually District Championship title and returned to state.
His most significant development came during the 2025–26 indoor season, competing with Northwest Pole Vault Club and as an unattached athlete. He set a lifetime PR of 14'6" at the WSTC Valentines Vault #5 in February 2026 (3rd place). At the 2026 STCU West Coast Indoor Championships he cleared 14'1.25" for 5th, and competed at Nike Indoor Nationals in March 2026. Mason opened the 2026 outdoor season with a 14'0" vault at the Klahowya Nisqually League Meet 1, winning the event outright.

College recruiting
Mason is being actively recruited as a junior. He has received an offer from Indiana Tech of the NAIA. He has also drawn Division I interest from the College of the Holy Cross (Patriot League), and is evaluating Division II programs including Grand Valley State University, which offers a strong pre-health and physical therapy track. Mason's academic interests center on sports medicine, physical therapy, and chiropractic work. His 3.706 GPA positions him competitively for pre-health pathways at all levels.
