Ronan Benjamin Sullivan (born 2007; Bengali: রোনান বেঞ্জামিন সালিভান) is a footballer who plays for West Chester United. Born in the United States, he represents Bangladesh at youth level.[1][2][3][4]

Early career

Ronan Sullivan played for the Philadelphia Union Academy, where he developed alongside his twin brother, Declan Sullivan.[5]

In 2025, he was part of the Philadelphia Union U18 squad that competed in the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs, where his goal contributed to his team ensuring spot in the final eight.[6]

Club career

In 2026, he committed to play college soccer for the Saint Joseph's Hawks.[7]

International career

Ronan Sullivan is of Bangladeshi descent and expressed interest in representing Bangladesh, leading to discussions with the Bangladesh Football Federation regarding this matter.[8] He was included in the Bangladesh U20 squad for the 2026 SAFF U-20 Championship.[9][10]

Ronan made his first appearance for Bangladesh in the first group stage match of the 2026 SAFF U-20 Championship against Pakistan U20, where he scored both goals in the 2–0 win.[11] 3 days later, he set up the equalizer from a corner as Bangladesh fought back from a goal down to hold India U20 to a 1–1 draw in the last group game.[12] He contributed to the team's progression to the final and later converted the decisive penalty in the shootout against India U20, securing the 2026 SAFF U-20 Championship title.[13]

Personal life

Sullivan comes from a family with strong ties to soccer. His older brother, Quinn Sullivan, plays for the first team of Philadelphia Union. His twin brother, Declan Sullivan, has represented the Bangladesh under-20 national team and has also played within the Philadelphia Union youth system.[14][15] His younger brother, Cavan Sullivan, has represented the United States at youth international level.
