Roy Keisha Rockette, known by her stage name Rockette, is an American singer-songwriter. She is best known for co-writing the award winning single ICU by Coco Jones.[1][2][3]
Early life
Rockette was born in Davenport, Iowa, and raised in Water Valley, Mississippi.
Career
Songwriting and collaborations
Rockette rose to prominence as a songwriter with the hit single ICU, recorded by Coco Jones. The track won a Grammy Award,[4] earned an NAACP Image Award,[5] and was certified platinum.[6] It also entered the Billboard Hot 100 and received a remix featuring Justin Timberlake.[7]
She has also written for artists including K. Michelle, Ari Lennox, Inayah Lamis, and Kiana Ledé.[8] Later in her career, Rockette signed with Sony Publishing, expanding her reach as a songwriter across R&B, pop, and hip hop genres.[9]
Solo projects
On November 11, 2022, Rockette released her debut EP, Confidence.[10]
