Pride Mobility Products Corporation began in 1986 when the Meuser and Kretchik families started manufacturing lift chairs in Pittston, Pennsylvania.[5] Pride later expanded into mobility scooters in 1992 and introduced the Jazzy® Power Chair in 1996, helping establish the company as a major mobility device manufacturer.[5] In 2000 Pride formed Quantum Rehab as a dedicated division focused on complex rehab technology. Pride’s company history timeline describes Quantum as being created to design and manufacture complex rehab power bases, seating and electronics for users with advanced mobility needs.[5] In later years, Pride and Quantum jointly acquired Stealth Products®, a specialist in seating, positioning and alternative drive controls, to expand their complex rehab portfolio.[5]
