Qeios (pronounced "chaos") is a multidisciplinary open-access, open peer review, scientific publishing platform for preprints and final articles.[1] Researchers can post their research papers for discussion,[2][3] which takes the place of formal editors.[2] Qeios does not charge any fees to authors, and all content is free to end users as well.[4][3] Articles post within minutes.[5][4] Qeios is among the few platforms that allow the open peer review of preprints, and is among those with the higher number of preprint peer reviews performed and registered as such at Crossref.[6]

Qeios seeks to serve as a better rating system for research and reduce bias and censorship by eliminating editorial gatekeeping and pre-publication peer review.[1][2] The platform also seeks to avoid inconclusive findings by ensuring that terms used in articles are linked to established definitions.[7] The platform uses artificial intelligence to recruit reviewers with expertise relevant to each article's subject matter.[2] Reviewers' names, their reviews, and article changes are posted for all to see and comment on.[2][5][3] Contributors are expected to disclose any conflicts of interest.[3]

Qeios has published articles by researchers from California Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford, and University College London, among others.[1] Some researchers use Qeios as the final destination for their work, others use it as a preprint service ahead of publication in a journal.[1] Qeios is a member of ORCID and Crossref.[5][3] It is indexed on Google Scholar, applying to be indexed by PubMed and Web of Science, and is archived in Portico and the British Library.[2] Qeios is tracked in the National Institutes of Health's iSearch COVID-19 portfolio.[8] It is a signatory to Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and ASAPbio's Publish Your Reviews.[9][10] It is a partner with AfricArXiv, a digital archive for African research.[11]

Qeios intends to achieve sustainability via Qeios Pro subscriptions. [12] 'needs a better reference.
