The Pesticide Properties DataBase (or PPDB) is a website and relational database managed by the Agriculture & Environment Research Unit at the University of Hertfordshire that provides information about pesticides. The database as originally developed as part of a project funded by the European Union and much of its data come from EU monographs.[1][2] The entries are cited to their source publication and tagged by the database managers with a level of confidence in the data, from 1 to 5,[1] and an internal rolling review checks all data at least once yearly.[3]
PPDB had over a million pageloads, and was cited 360 times, in 2014, including references from regulatory organisations.[3]
It lists over 1800 pesticide chemicals and common metabolites that form from pesticide degradation in soil. It was principally developed to support risk assessments,[4] and includes physicochemical and ecotoxological data.[1]
