Nicole Bogott is a German author and international development executive whose work focuses on leadership and power dynamics. She has been featured in German media and cited in reports by institutions including the OECD.
Education
Bogott completed a trilingual Master’s degree in Advanced European and International Studies at the Centre international de formation européenne (CIFE).[1] Her master's thesis, "Cosmopolitan Democracy – A Prospect for UN Reform", was submitted within the Trilingual Branch of the programme.[2]
Publications and research
Bogott co-authored the chapter “Africa in the International Climate Negotiations” (2016) in Environmental Law and Policy in Namibia: Towards Making Africa the Tree of Life (3rd ed.), edited by Oliver C. Ruppel and Katharina Ruppel-Schlichting.[3]
In 2017, she co-authored Im Startup die Welt gestalten. Wie Jobs in der Gründerszene funktionieren, published by Springer Gabler, in which the authors introduced the “Power-Triangle®-Modell”, which conceptualises power as the interaction of knowledge, networks and resources.[4]
In 2018, she co-authored the article The Trust Economy for BusinessDNA, an online business publication, discussing economic and social aspects of trust in Afghanistan’s economy.[5]
In 2022, she co-authored Vertrauen. Macht. Wirtschaft. Sicher führen in unsicheren Zeiten (Springer Gabler), in which the model was further developed.[6]
International development
In March 2015, Politik & Kommunikation reported that Bogott was leaving EurActiv.de to assume leadership of the Hanns Seidel Foundation office in Windhoek, Namibia.[7] In 2017, Hult International Business School described Bogott as a co-founder of the impACT initiative, a series of conferences connecting startup ecosystems in post-conflict contexts.[8] Bogott was listed as an interviewee in the OECD report Boosting Private Sector Development and Entrepreneurship in Afghanistan (2019).[9]
Media and public engagement
In September 2021, Bogott was quoted in The Hill regarding the evacuation of Afghan women activists following the Taliban takeover.[10] In the same year, Bogott delivered a TEDx talk at TEDxCIFE.[11]
In June 2022, she participated in a public panel discussion hosted by the European Commission Representation in Germany on building a culture of consent in Europe.[12]
In 2025, regional newspaper MOZ reported on her involvement in the civic dialogue event “Werkstatt der Mutigen” in Wandlitz ahead of the German federal election.[13] Bogott was featured in the ARD documentary 35 Jahre deutsche Einheit – Wen juckt’s? [14] and appeared in the ARD/RBB format Politik und Wir – Der Community-Talk. [15]
