Neville Rodda is an Australian-born lawn bowler and digital sports educator based in New Zealand. He is a national open champion in both Australia and New Zealand, known for his high-performance lead play and digital coaching contributions to the sport.[1]

Career

Rodda's competitive career began in Victoria, Australia. In 2008, following a quarter-final finish in the Australian Indoor Singles, he was selected for the Australian National Silver Tier Squad under national coach Ian Schuback.[2] His selection was noted in technical literature for being a rare instance of an athlete being named to the national squad prior to making a senior representative debut for their state.[3]

In 2011, Rodda partnered with Lee Schraner to win the Australian Open Men's Pairs title, defeating the pairing of Aron Sheriff and Mark Berghofer.[1]

Following a relocation to New Zealand in 2015, Rodda achieved significant independent media coverage during the 2017 New Zealand National Bowls Championships. Partnering with Gary Lawson, Rodda won the National Pairs title. The victory received substantial coverage in New Zealand national media, with reports from the NZ Herald and Stuff.co.nz highlighting Rodda's "dominating" performance as a lead as a critical factor in Lawson's record-breaking 11th title.[4][5]

Digital coaching

Rodda is the developer of the "Torny" lawn bowls software and maintains an instructional YouTube presence. His coaching content and technical analysis have reached a cumulative audience of over 2.5 million views, making him a prominent digital voice in the sport's technical development.[6]
