Draft:Musea Orchestra

  • Comment: The tone of this draft is partially promotional, and several statements go without references. NeoGaze (talk) 20:28, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment: Currently all of the sources only mention the group and others are about their covers of popular songs. A YouTube video to their songs can not be used as a reliable source. Ktkvtsh (talk) 21:26, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment: The lead is the most promotional part. Also needs more reliable independent sources to show notability pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 14:30, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

Musea Orchestra is an orchestra in Malta. The orchestra performs and creates orchestral crossovers merging orchestral performances together with genres such as pop, rock, EDM and other modern music styles. It operates as a collective of independent and freelance professional musicians, orchestrators and artistic personnel residing in Malta, frequently uniting to serve as a single orchestra. The ensemble is popular in Malta for collaborating with various different government entities, artists and other artistic institutions to create orchestral performances or artistic concepts containing orchestral influences.

History

The ensemble was founded in 2022 and rose to fame after being the first to create an orchestra and pyrotechnical show at the Malta International Fireworks Festival in 2022. The subsequent year, it created an orchestra and drone show featuring a medley of local music. They appeared once more at the 2024 edition with their classical pyrotechnical and orchestra show[1].

The orchestra is the executive producer of a television programme on Television Malta called L-Ewwel Nota which has been ongoing for 8 consecutive seasons on both TVM and TVM+ (formerly TVM2). On the program different experts in various areas of music, such as songwriting, lyrics, production, mixing and mastering, etc., are brought onto the programme to explain to the general public the different processes involved in music. The programme also focuses on different festivals, events, theatres and other music related aspects relating to the Maltese Islands.

In 2023, the orchestra created the Official Orchestral Version for "Dance (Our Own Party)", by The Busker[2], as Malta's entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, UK[3][4]. Their involvement in the Eurovision scene continued when they closed off the Grand Finale of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 by performing with previous year's winner and Maltese representative in Eurovision Song Contest 2024, Sarah Bonnici, a collaboration with whom they had done previous projects with before[5].

Musea Orchestra performing at the Malta National Stadium together with the Malta National Football Teams

Notably, Musea Orchestra collaborated with the Malta Football Association to conclude the 125th Anniversary Celebrations of the Malta FA, creating a music performance at the National Stadium, Ta' Qali[6]. For this performance, several Maltese footballing legends from the Former National Maltese Football Teams, both male and female, were invited by the Malta Football Association to participate in this anniversary celebration, thus forming an "all-star football team". For the event kits were worn inspired by the kits originally worn by the national football team in 1957[7][8]. The performance was also accompanied by a social media campaign highlighting the similarity between the values comprising both the disciplines of sport and music[7].
