Dr. Muath Abdelrahman Alzarooni is a United Arab Emirates–based psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent mental health, with clinical training in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He has worked in clinical and academic settings in the UAE and Canada and has participated in public mental health education initiatives.
Education and training
Alzarooni received his medical degree from the University of Sharjah. He completed postgraduate residency training in psychiatry at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi and was awarded the Arab Board in Psychiatry.
He later undertook advanced clinical fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Ottawa and additional clinical training in ADHD at McGill University in Canada.
Career
Alzarooni has practiced as a psychiatrist with a focus on child and adolescent mental health within the UAE public healthcare system. He has also been involved in medical education and academic teaching activities.
He serves as President of the Emirates ADHD Chapter, an initiative operating under the Emirates Medical Association.
Public engagement
Alzarooni has contributed to public awareness of child and adolescent mental health through newspaper interviews, seminars, and educational events. His commentary on ADHD has been featured in UAE-based media outlets.
