Modular System Sp. z o.o. is a Polish manufacturer of container modular buildings, based in Ogorzelice in Płock County, Masovian Voivodeship. The company was registered in 2015 and produces residential, sanitary, office and specialist modules used in industrial, military, healthcare and educational projects in Poland and abroad.[1]

History

The company was registered in the Polish National Court Register in 2015 (KRS 0000580887). Its production plant is located in Ogorzelice in the Stara Biała municipality near Płock.[1]

A 2024 study published in the journal Wiedza Obronna described Modular System among Polish manufacturers of modular protective and accommodation structures used in military and civilian applications.[2]

Projects

COVID-19 hospitals (2020–2021)

During the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland, Modular System and ZURAD built temporary hospitals for PKN Orlen in Płock and Ostrołęka. The Płock facility, opened in late 2020 as a branch of the Provincial Hospital, was assembled from 194 containers and configured for around 200 COVID-19 patients with intensive care places.[3][4] In 2021 the company supplied 83 modules used by Strabag to expand the Military Institute of Medicine in Warsaw with a modular hospital.[5]

Olefiny III worker town (2022–2023)

Between 2022 and 2023 Modular System and ZURAD built a worker town in Stara Biała near Płock for foreign employees of Hyundai Engineering and Técnicas Reunidas, the contractors of Orlen's Olefiny III petrochemical complex. Constructed over five months on a 7.8-hectare site, the town consists of fourteen residential buildings made up of approximately 2,500 modules with a combined floor area of 37,000 m². It includes a canteen for up to 2,000 people, a laundry, a hydrophore set, an electrical substation and rooms for police and emergency medical services, and can accommodate up to 6,000 workers.[6][7]

School in Żelazno (2024)

After the September 2024 floods in Kłodzko County, Modular System, the equipment supplier Entelo and soldiers of the Territorial Defence Force built a temporary modular school and kindergarten in Żelazno to replace a building destroyed by the flood. The 663 m² complex of 54 modules contains nine classrooms, two preschool rooms, three specialist rooms and ancillary spaces; the modules were assembled in 48 hours after site preparation, and the building was opened on 30 October 2024 and donated to the rural gmina of Kłodzko free of charge.[8][9][10]

Defence sector

Modular System is listed on the Polish Defence Companies Portal of the Ministry of National Defence as a manufacturer of modular container systems for the armed forces. The portal classifies the company in the segments of force protection and mobility, ground combat, materials, medical response and CBRN, and lists residential, sanitary, office, canteen, classified-document, weapon-storage, server-room, cold-storage and guard containers among its products for military customers.[1]

Sponsorship

The company has sponsored the men's handball club SPR Wisła Płock since 2019.[11] In September 2023 it became a partner of EHF Marketing GmbH for the Machineseeker EHF Champions League, described in Polish media as the first such partnership between a Polish company and the men's handball Champions League.[12]
