Draft:Micro Kickboard

  • Comment: There are not enough sources cited in this article (there is not a single citation until the Reception section), but more importantly none of the four cited sources discusses Micro Kickboard; all are covering Micro Mobility Systems products. We need significant coverage of the topic of the article, not the products it sells. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 21:59, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

Micro Kickboard is a United States-based distributor of scooters and related micromobility products designed by the Swiss company Micro Mobility Systems. The company operates as the official U.S. distributor for Micro-branded scooters and related products.

History

Micro Kickboard was founded in 2007 by Julie and Geoff Hawksworth. The founders first encountered Micro scooters while living in London and later sought to introduce the products to the United States market. After contacting Micro Mobility Systems, they established a distribution relationship and began operating in the U.S.

The company initially operated on a small scale before expanding its distribution footprint to include e-commerce, online marketplaces and retail partnerships.

Operations

Micro Kickboard distributes scooters, ride-on products and related accessories in the United States. Its products are sold through its own e-commerce website as well as third-party marketplaces and retail partners.

The company operates as a distributor rather than a manufacturer, importing products developed by Micro Mobility Systems for sale in the U.S. market.

Products

The product range includes two- and three-wheeled scooters designed for children and adults, along with ride-on toys and luggage products incorporating scooter mechanisms.

Some models use a lean-to-steer mechanism, in which riders shift their weight to change direction. Product features vary by model and may include adjustable handlebars and foldable frames.

Reception

Micro scooters have been included in a number of independent product reviews and consumer buying guides.

The New York Times product review site Wirecutter has recommended several Micro models, including the Micro Maxi and Micro Mini, in its guide to children's scooters.[1]

A separate Wirecutter review described the Micro Maxi Deluxe as a stable option for younger riders.[2]

Parents magazine included multiple Micro scooters in its 2025 list of recommended scooters for children, naming the Micro Maxi as its top overall pick.[3]

The review site Two Wheeling Tots has also listed Micro scooters among recommended three-wheeled scooters for children.[4]

Relationship with Micro Mobility Systems

Micro Kickboard operates as the official distributor for Micro Mobility Systems in the United States. Micro Mobility Systems designs and manufactures the scooters marketed under the Micro brand.
