Michael 2 is an upcoming American biographical film directed by Lionsgate. It will follow the life of the American late pop singer Michael Jackson, and will serve as a sequel to Michael.

Background
During the production of Michael, the idea into splitting the film into two separate parts was possible. However the production team decided to not.[1]
Following the first films successful release in the box office, speculation whether a sequel would release.[2] In late April 2026, Jaafar Jackson expressed his interest in starring as Michael Jackson again and Graham King stated that "he was thinking of some things."[3][4] Adam Folgeson, Chairman at Lionsgate Studios, said that the film would most likely focus on the 1993 sexual abuse allegations on Jackson.[5]
Production
In late May 2026, Fogelson announced a sequel for Michael following the film's success.[6][7][8] It was then revealed that 30% of the film has been shot.[9] A production window is possible for 2026 or 2027. A projected release date is scheduled for 2029.[10]
