Merchants Square Mall, also known as Allentown Outlet Mall, was a shopping mall in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States. It was located at 1901 South 12th Street. The mall closed in 2023 and the property was planned for redevelopment as Merchants Commerce Center, an industrial-use project.[1]
History
Merchants Square Mall operated in Allentown, Pennsylvania, at 1901 South 12th Street.[2] Before its closure, the mall was listed as having 14 stores and was associated with antiques, collectibles, specialty shops and a model train exhibit.[3]
In January 2023, it was reported that Merchants Square Mall was closing and that the property would be converted into Merchants Commerce Center for industrial use.[1] The mall is also listed among former Pennsylvania shopping malls as having operated until 2023, with the site under demolition and planned for a future warehouse use.[4]
In March 2024, the former Merchants Square Mall property was reported sold to Woodmont Industrial Partners. The property was described as a 116,502-square-foot former retail center on 8.49 acres at 1901 South 12th Street.[5]
