Mark Louis Thompson (born August 8, 1945) is an American historian, sailor and politician from Michigan.
Biography
Mark Louis Thompson was born on August 8, 1945 in Rogers City, Michigan. He served in the United States Army Security Agency from 1964 to 1968, and was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 1973. Thompson served in the House for one term, representing the 106th district in the northeast Lower Peninsula. Thompson's policy included advocacy for the construction of freeways in Northern Michigan.[3]
Thompson's term in the Michigan House ended in December 1974. He studied political science at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, graduating in 1977. Thompson graduated from Michigan State University with a Master of Public Administration in 1979. He worked at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in the 1980s in an administrative position,
