MEPC (Korean: 맵시; stylized in all caps) is a multinational k-pop girl group formed by GBK Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: Miho, Solmi, Kkekke, Hara, Ann, Zaylie, and Anika. The members come from five different countries - South Korea, India, Nepal, Tunisia, and Myanmar. They debuted on December 8, 2025, with the song "Truth Seeker".
Name
The name MEPC is a acronym for My Escape Point C. It refers to the group's conceptual narrative of the members escaping from their captivity in the fictional "U5 Universe". The name MEPC is also a homonym for the Korean word 맵시 ("maepsi"), which means a sense of style or elegance in appearance.[1]
History
MEPC was formed by GBK Entertainment through non-face-to-face recruitment process called Girls Universe. The members of the group were selected through online voting.[2] The training period consisted of two years of individual online audition and AI-based training, followed by two years of team training in South Korea.[1]
During their pre-debut period, the group made appearances at various local music festivals in South Korea. On January 16, 2025, MEPC was appointed the promotional ambassadors for Challenge Korea 2025 by Challenge Korea Headquarters, a South Korean non-profit organization with the goal of discovering individuals with challenges, big and small, in their daily lives.[3]
In September, 2025, MEPC had their first radio interview when they were guests on Park Ji-hyun's Brunch Cafe, a radio show on Wonju MBC.[4] Prior to their debut, MEPC released a pre-debut digital single, My Red Face, on November 12, 2025.[5] The song is a cover of a 2011 pre-debut song by MASKOT, a girl group under GBK Entertainment that disbanded prior to their debut.[6][7]
Debut with First Fragment
MEPC made their official debut on December 8, 2025, with simultaneous release of the music video of their debut song Truth Seeker on their official YouTube channel, and the live band performance of the song on MBC-affiliated It's Live YouTube channel. It was followed by the release of their first digital mini-album First Fragment on December 10, 2025. The mini-album contained four tracks: "First Fragment", "MEPC", "Emotional Wave", and "Truth Seeker."
On December 13, 2025, MEPC made their television debut on MBC's Show! MusicCore, with a stage performance of Truth Seeker.[8] On January 8, 2025, MEPC also appeared as guests on Arirang Radio's Radio 'N Us, amplifying their global engagement.[9][10]
