Draft:Livernoche

Livernoche is a Canadian instrumental composer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound designer from Montreal, Quebec. His work combines ambient, cinematic, and contemporary instrumental music, often drawing inspiration from nature, astronomy, and landscape.

Career

Livernoche began releasing music independently in the early 2010s. His first album, Find Ourselves, was released in 2011 and featured a more song-oriented approach with vocals.

In 2015, he released Ursa Major, an instrumental album inspired by the seven principal stars of the Big Dipper. The album was the subject of a feature article in Nord Info, which described the project as ambient music incorporating synthesizer, acoustic guitar, and bass guitar. In the interview, Livernoche explained that the concept originated from childhood experiences observing the night sky near Mont-Tremblant with his grandparents.

Subsequent releases expanded upon his interest in instrumental composition and thematic storytelling. His albums La mère du vent and Élément explored natural and environmental motifs. In a television interview with TVBL, Livernoche discussed the release of Élément, his third studio album.

In 2023, the album La mère du vent was featured in a discussion on Radio-Canada's OHdio platform.

After a period of reduced public activity, Livernoche returned in 2026 with Stella, an album inspired by some of the brightest stars visible from Canada. The project marked a continuation of his long-standing interest in astronomy and instrumental composition.

Musical style

Livernoche's music has been described as ambient and melodic, incorporating elements of cinematic composition, synthesizers, acoustic instrumentation, and atmospheric textures. His work frequently explores themes of nature, astronomy, contemplation, and place.
