The Ledron Archaeological Local Museum (Greek: Τοπικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Λεδρών, romanized: Topiko Archaiologiko Mousio Ledron); also known as the Ledra City Archeological Museum or Archeological Site and Local Archeological Museum of Ledroi is an archaeological museum in Cyprus, located in Nicosia next to the Agios Georgios Hill excavations.
Features
Small museum introduces visitors to the earliest chapters of Nicosia's history through material uncovered at the nearby archaeological site of ancient Ledra. Once an important city-kingdom and regarded as the predecessor of modern Nicosia, Ledra offers a rare glimpse into the long continuity of settlement in the area, reaching back to prehistoric and Bronze Age communities and continuing through later historical periods.
Set in a former British colonial residence close to the excavation zone, the museum brings together objects found in and around the site. Its collection ranges from prehistoric tools and ancient coins to architectural and religious remains from the Byzantine era, allowing visitors to follow the transformation of the region from early settlement to medieval and later urban life.
