Kinneret Klein[1] (born 30 May 2002) known professionally as Kinneret, she is a Jewish-American singer-songwriter[2]. Her most well-known and popular song is "No Wind Resistance!" which was released in her 2019 album 'DMZ' the song currently has 169 million listens on Spotify and became viral on TikTok.

Personal and Early Life

Kinneret was born and raised in Los Angeles, California to her two rabbi parents (who met in Rabbinical school in New York). Kinneret grew up under the faith of Judaism and still practices Judaism in the present day.

Kinneret’s parents are from the Eastern Coast of the US[3] and her mother still works at Temple Isaiah. Her parents brought meaning to people's lives through words and music, which grew Kinneret into a singer.[1] She is reported to have started playing music at the age of nine.[4]

Kinneret went to a performing arts school in Los Angeles where she originally was interested in theatre until she pivoted to music due to her teachers thoughts that music may be a better fit. [1]

Most of the recording and mixing for Kinneret's songs prior to 2020 were born in her Music Technology class at school. Once she learned how to release songs on DistroKid and similar websites she started to release songs to the public.[1]

Kinneret currently lives in New York City[1] and is continuing to create music as she travels the world seeking inspiration for her music. She is quoted as saying: "I fell in love, I traveled to new countries, I built my team, I moved to New York. All of these experiences are making their way into my music, shaping my art into something authentic and meaningful. My discography has become a growing journal of my life, and I’m looking forward to adding more entries as my life continues."[1]

Kinneret’s grandfather James Grashaw is credited with some of Kinneret’s merch designs which shows Kinneret’s values of family that inspires her music also extends through to all parts of her work.[1]

Career

On the 3rd of December 2018, Kinneret released her first single "Vroooom!!".[5]
