Kevin Grauke (born November 23, 1968) is an American author and professor of creative writing and American literature who writes short stories, essays, and poetry.
Life and education
Kevin Grauke was born in Dallas, Texas, on November 23, 1968. He received a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Texas State University in 1996, and a Ph.D. in English from the University at Buffalo in 2003. He lives in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Career
Kevin Grauke is the author of three books of fiction, including the award-winning Shadows of Men[1]. His other books include West of Destry[2] and Yonderites[3]. He has two forthcoming books: a short story collection titled Bullies & Cowards in late 2026 and an as yet untitled essay collection in 2027. His work has appeared in such literary journals as Fiction, The Southern Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Story Quarterly, Quarterly West, Blue Mesa Review, and Third Coast, among others.
Grauke has been on faculty at La Salle University since 2004 and is currently an associate professor.
