Joshua Caleb Shiver (born May 17, 2005) is an Political Activist. A Republican, he is best known for his efforts in opposing the 2026 Virginia Redistricting Amendment .
Early life, education, career
Shiver graduated from Abingdon High School; he went on to receive a Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia Highlands Community College in 2023. After graduation, he worked as a Corrections Officer for the Virginia Department of Corrections[1], later accepting a Position as a Mental Health Counselor for Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center, Located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Shiver Relocated back to Abingdon, Virginia in Late 2024, Accepting a position with Creekside Behavioral Health, in Kingsport Tennessee.
Shiver is currently not married and is the oldest of two siblings.
Redistricting Lawsuit
In 2026, Shiver filed a Lawsuit against the Virginia Department of Elections, and several other state and local officials regarding the proposed Constitutional ballot question[2]. At the time of his Lawsuit, Shiver was only 20 years old.
