Jeric Medina
Ricardo Pastor Medina Jr. more known as Jeric Medina (born November 24, 1990) is a Filipino–Spanish singer, songwriter, and performer. He gained national recognition as a finalist on the first season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012, where he finished as the fourth runner-up. Medina later became the grand champion of the 2015 Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop), alongside Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana, for their winning song “Triangulo.”
⸻
Early life and education
Medina was born in Makati, Philippines. He began singing at a young age and was influenced by Western R&B, soul, and pop music. He studied at Colegio San Agustin, Don Bosco Technical Institute – Makati, and De La Salle University – Manila (DLSU), where he served as a vocalist for the now-defunct DLSU Pops Orchestra (currently known as the Lasallian Youth Orchestra).
After graduating from DLSU in 2012, Medina joined the first and only season of The X Factor Philippines as part of Martin Nievera's team, where he finished fourth runner-up. Following the competition, he was signed to Star Magic until 2014 and later joined Viva Artists Agency / Viva Records from 2014 until 2024.
In January 2023, Medina relocated to Canada with his family to pursue further studies at Centennial College, where he took up the Music Industry Arts and Performance program. He graduated with High Honours in June 2025.

Career
2012: The X Factor Philippines
Medina competed in the inaugural season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012, under the mentorship of Martin Nievera. His soulful performances throughout the competition earned him widespread praise for his tone and artistry, culminating in a fourth runner-up finish.
2013–2018: Early releases and PhilPop success
After The X Factor Philippines, Medina began his professional music career as a solo artist and songwriter. In 2014, he released his first original singles, “Wala Nang Iba” and “Alam Mo Ba.”
In 2015, Medina participated in the Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop), where he interpreted the song “Triangulo.” The entry, which he performed alongside Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana, won the Grand Prize. The success of the song established Medina as one of the most promising artists of his generation.
He went on to release several singles under Viva Records, showcasing his signature R&B and pop sound.
2019–present: Independent releases and Chapters
In 2024, Medina began releasing music independently, blending elements of R&B, pop, and soul. His upcoming full-length album, Chapters, is set for release on November 11, 2025.
The album includes the singles “nevermine” and “Huling Baraha” (both featuring Jinky Vidal), “Survive” (featuring Thyro), “Take Your Heart,” and “Dekada”—a song dedicated to his wife, Jinky Vidal, in celebration of their ten years together.
In addition to his solo work, Medina has collaborated with various artists and continues to perform in Canada and internationally.
