Comment: To get this article into mainspace, the subject needs to meet Wikipedia's notability and sourcing requirements, using Wikipedia's definitions of both. For a lawyer this isn't always easy, few lawyers will qualify. The relevant criteria is WP:BASIC and ideally needs 3 newspaper profiles of the subject giving in-depth and independent coverage of the subject's life and career. Here only one independent source is given, the Reflektor source, which has some quotes but very little editorial insight into the subject. Quotes, interviews count as self published. The employer's website gives useful sourcing but not for notability purposes - it's not independent in this context. So some more work will be needed, on notability. There are other issues with the article, but they can be more easily fixed (e.g. saying we know nothing of their personal life means we delete that sentence). If the submitted editor knows or has dealings with the subject, they need to declare it via WP:COI - that isn't a blocker but is important for transparency reasons. Jeremy Kudon is an American attorney and lobbyist known for his central role in the state-by-state legalization of sports betting and daily fantasy sports in the United States.[1] He is a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he leads the firm’s Public Policy and State Legislative & Regulatory practice.[2]
Early life and education
Kudon earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Miami University in 1993.[1] He later graduated summa cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 2000.[1]
Career
Early legal work
Kudon began his legal career representing clients in litigation and regulatory policy disputes, including satellite television providers in state legislative battles.[1]
Leadership in sports-betting legalization
Kudon rose to national prominence through his work designing and coordinating multi-state lobbying campaigns for the legalization of daily fantasy sports and online sports wagering. Beginning in 2015, he oversaw a nationwide legislative strategy that helped secure fantasy-sports laws in more than a dozen states.[2]
Following the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Murphy v. NCAA (2018), which allowed states to legalize sports betting, Kudon became a key architect of state regulatory models. As of 2022, Orrick stated that Kudon had assisted in the passage of online sports-betting legislation in eighteen states.[2] His work includes drafting model bills, coordinating contract lobbyists, advising operators and sports leagues, and shaping regulatory structures related to licensing, integrity monitoring, and consumer protections.[1]
Kudon has been cited in state legislative reporting for his role in ongoing negotiations and regulatory debates, including those in Kansas.[3]
Public speaking and industry involvement
He has appeared as a speaker at major gaming-industry conferences, including the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention.[4]
Recognition
Kudon was named to PlayUSA’s “Online Gambling Power Players” list in 2022 for his influence over national sports-betting legislation.[5]
Personal life
Public information about Kudon’s personal life is limited. He is based in New York, according to his professional profile.[2]
