A R Jaffer Sadiq is an Indian entrepreneur, politican and film producer, who works primarily in Tamil cinema. Sadiq became infamous after he was arrested for a scam.[1][2]
Career
Sadiq started his business from metal scrap, fish trade and hospitality,[1] establishing JSM residency hotels and later venturing into film production with movies like Maayavalai, Iraivan Miga Periyavan directed by Ameer Sultan[3],Vasanth Ravi's Indra and Kayal Anandhi's Mangai.[4] Sadiq was serving as Chennai west deputy organiser of DMK's NRI wing, when he was arrested.[2] and the party expelled him on February 25, 2024.[5]

Controversy
Sadiq was arrested for allegedly running the drug ring, that facilitated the trafficking of pseudoephedrine[2][10] and later on, ED arrested him for alleged money laundering,[11] but was given bail, following the orders passed by the Supreme Court, on the basis granting bail to former Delhi deputy Chief minister Manish Sisodia.[12]
