JKLN (born Jacqueline Faraui; June 26, 1991) is an electronic music producer, composer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Berlin. She is known for her chart-topping single Welcome to Ukraine, international electronic music releases, and interdisciplinary work across music, film, and sports-related projects.[1]

Biography

Faraui was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and spent part of her childhood in Kherson. Her mother is from Kherson and was a professional dance athlete, while her father, originally from the Middle East, is a conductor and composer. At the age of six, she moved to Greece, where she was raised before relocating to Berlin in 2019.[2]

She received formal musical training from an early age, including singing lessons, choir participation, classical and jazz piano, music theory, and dance education. She also trained in athletics and later studied audio engineering. In addition to her formal education, she is self-taught on guitar and ukulele.[3]

In composer and publishing contexts, her first name is transliterated as Zhaklin, a spelling variation used in international credits.[4]

Career

JKLN gained international recognition with the release of Welcome to Ukraine, which went viral and reached number one on Ukrainian music charts, remaining there for several months. The song also reached number two on global house and dance charts and appeared among daily viral tracks in Ukraine.[5]

She collaborated with the Saunderson Brothers on the track Forever Young, released via KMS Records in Detroit with support from Kevin Saunderson. Her music has been released through international labels including Ultra Records and Smash Deep, and her compositions have been published through Universal Music Publishing.[6]

Welcome to Ukraine was featured in the documentary Ukraine Under Fire, expanding her work into film-related contexts.[7]

In 2026, she wrote a song for the Ukrainian Wrestling Association in collaboration with Olympic wrestler Oksana Livach, marking her involvement in sports-related cinematic music projects.[8]

She is currently based in Berlin and remains active in electronic and cinematic music production.[9]
