Islamic Reggae

Islamic Reggae is founded by Mo Ali, a Dutch artist of Sudanese origin. This genre combines the rhythms of reggae with Islamic teachings to show the beauty of the faith and spread a message of peace.
The Origin Story
The idea for Islamic Reggae began during a social gathering in the Netherlands. Mo Ali was sitting with a group of non-Muslim friends when he received a phone call with very happy news. Following his faith, Mo instinctively said "Allahu Akbar" (which means "God is the Greatest") to express his joy.
Upon hearing these words, the people around him became visibly scared. Their expressions changed, and they reacted as if something dangerous was about to happen. When Mo asked why they were worried, they explained that they only associated that phrase with violence and terrorism because of what they saw in the media.
Deeply moved by this encounter, Mo Ali decided to take action. He realized that the true, peaceful meaning of Islamic expressions had been lost in the West. He chose Reggae music, a genre known for its spiritual "vibe" and messages of love, to reclaim the narrative and show that Islam is a religion of spirituality, gratitude, and peace.
Mission and Philosophy
Islamic Reggae focuses on correcting misconceptions about Islam. While the music pays great respect to the Rastafari movement and its roots in social justice, Mo Ali uses the platform to: * Talk about the beauty of Allah and the Prophet's teachings. * Bridge the gap between different cultures and religions. * Provide "spiritual music" that focuses on inner peace rather than violence or negativity.
