IronWallet is Liechtenstein-based non‑custodial cryptocurrency wallet used to store, send, and receive digital assets. The wallet is based on a mobile app and protected by a card containing a near-field communication chip which stores the wallet's encrypted recovery seed phrase.[1][2]

History

IronWallet was founded in the aftermath of a cryptocurrency exchange security breach as its developers saw a need for non-custodial wallets with better usability than existing software.[3]

The IronWallet app was launched in 2023 by Liechtenstein-based company INWAY AG, and by April of 2024 the app had 100,000 downloads on the Google Play. In March of 2025, the total downloads reached 1 million.[4]

In 2025, the app integrated a swap function which enables users to send and receive tokens without gas fees.[5]

Business model

IronWallet is premised mainly on increasing accessibility and usability of non-custodial wallets.[6][2]
