IRONSCALES

IRONSCALES is a privately held cybersecurity company founded in 2014 that specializes in artificial-intelligence–driven enterprise email security through its cloud-native platform.[1] In addition to email detection and prevention capabilities, the company developed a proprietary large language model (LLM), PhishLLM, used to generate phishing simulations for security testing and workforce training.[2][3]

In June 2023, IRONSCALES released Themis AI Co-pilot, an Outlook-integrated assistant designed to give employees security guidance and provide a self-reporting mechanism for suspicious email activity.[4] In 2025, the company introduced deepfake-detection capabilities to address emerging AI-generated identity threats.[5][6]

History

IRONSCALES was founded in 2014 in Tel Aviv, Israel, by alumni of the Israel Defense Forces’ intelligence technology units. The company later established its U.S. headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, while maintaining operations in Tel Aviv and the United Kingdom.[7]

In December 2021, IRONSCALES raised a US$64 million Series C funding round led by PSG Equity, bringing its total reported funding to approximately US$95 million.[1] In October 2023, founder and CEO Eyal Benishti became an active commentator on the Israel–Palestine conflict and its implications for the tech and cybersecurity sectors.[8][9]
